I Was Jealous Of My Sister, Turns Out She's Jealous Of Me

I was twenty, a guy friend got me pregnant at a football party, embarrassed and scared I eloped with him. From single with dreams of a career, to a married student mother without any money. Fortunately my sister arrived as a freshman to help me with the baby. By the time I did graduate I did so pregnant, siblings should be 18 months apart.

We moved for his job, lived in rent houses for years, two more kids with a three year gap between number two and number three. I saw my sister graduate and become a lawyer, friends making real money, and I had to budget every penny. My husband had to take a second job while I kept getting pregnant. Five kids, then six, and I was a pregnant thirty.

I 'm here because one day I realized I'm stuck, my life sucks, and all my husband wants is more children. I quit, tied my tubes after giving birth to my sixth baby, and he's contemplating divorce over it, he wants a fertile woman.

I have no choice really, I apologized and agreed if he found a woman to have more kids we would adopt them. And my sister turned up pregnant, she is jealous of me. She hates her life and wants to stay home and have babies.

You had no right to go against your husband's wishes and have your tubes tied.

As the provider, and the head of the family, the man makes decisions about growing the family. That is what is written in the Bible.

He would do well to divorce you. marry your sister, and have babies with her.

If I found that any sexual partner of mine was in any way interfering with her fertility or with conception, that would be the end of our relationship.

Other guy is wrong, it's your choice to tie your tube's. That said, it should've been discussed with the husband ahead of time. Including expectations, hopes, dreams etc before you ever got married.

Now, I'm not surprised your sister hates her life. Feminists have tried forever to convince women we wanna be corporate types and work all day providing for a family. That's not true for the vast majority of us. We want to have children, turn a house into a home, make it beautiful and warm.

Your sister learned it the hard way, went through all the bullshit to learn what I have. Life isn't always greener on the other side. You're struggling, have a ton of kids and maybe he doesn't appreciate you or just doesn't show it how you need. Maybe you need a break. But believe me, as someone who's worked her whole life. It's not rewarding. There's no freedom. I don't feel like a successful woman even if by every other metric I am.

The most rewarding I've ever felt is when I quit working and spent my days building a home for me and my man, taking care of him as he cared for me. Barefoot and pregnant. That's happiness.

The person above is wrong about the husband's prerogative. She needs to re-read the Bible, which says, quite literally, that wives are to "submit" to and "obey" their husbands. It's very simple, and not open to interpretation.

To her other point, though, my current wife told me that she started to feel like a real woman the moment I first ejaculated inside her. We conceived that first night. She was very, very young. I was three times her age. We had a church wedding about two months later.

I had three strikes against me, Hispanic, poor and lesbian. A man came along, he liked a brown woman, had money, and called out lesbian behavior. In a couple of intercourses I was pregnant, and in Bible classes, this time as an adult not a child. I have a home and children to nurture, I put my trust in my husband, I accept him as head of the household. I'm not saying lesbians have it wrong, but lesbians are women, and women are half of the equation, man has woman, woman has man, man protects, defends, and provided, woman conceives and makes children, a home and a family. It's an easy equation.
