My Family Thinks I'm A Progressive Feminist

I grew up in Oregon, my family were the ultra-progressive types. Super supportive and open minded to the point that what they believed and stood for changed almost hourly based on what social issue tugged at their heart strings at the moment. They never held ground, never had any real Foundations for their beliefs.

One moment they'd be #AllMen and the next they'd be waxing poetic about the fall of men and men's mental health issues. All while not realizing my brother was struggling with all the same issues and hated them and the shit they talked about daily. Their only political beliefs were to support the "good" thing and hating the mean conservative or racist people.

Mom was an overbearing emotional wreck and dad was a weak simpering stay at home man. They tried to force feminist ideals into my head, forced me to work hard, get a job, go to college. Anytime I asked questions about these things or argued they just said I didn't understand or had internalized issues. Because they couldn't actually explain their beliefs.

So now when I visit my family I say the right things, pretend to be a radical femin**i and man hater. They think I have a great career and I'm the boss of my relationship.

It couldn't be further from the truth. I don't work at all, I spend my day doing what I love. Taking care of my home, cooking for myself and my fiance. I dress comfortably and spend my days pregnant, barefoot and happy. My family, minus my brother he's great, would despise me and my life choices. Despite every one of them hating their lives and being mentally ill in some way.

Anyway, just wanted to vent. Had to visit them the other day and hated every second of it. They judge everyone constantly and I have to put on an act. I'm planning on moving across the country soon.
