My Daughter Has Officially Left Me
She shocked me when she moved out yesterday. Her story is always changing. Now it's clear she was fooling around with this guy for a while.
When you've invested all that I have in a relationship, this kind of infidelity hurts even more.
My daughter originally seduced ME, when she returned home after college. I tried to stay faithful her mom but the temptation was too great. Then, I tried to keep things discreet, but she wanted to get caught. At the time, she was jealous that I still had to sleep with her mom occasionally, to keep up appearances. My daughter wanted me all to herself.
She arranged it so her mom walked in on us making love. Of course the marriage ended. Though I was happy for the new sexual energy and the new love we shared.
I helped her change her last name and we moved to a different state, to a city where no one knew us. This allowed us to live like a regular couple.
It was all working out so well until a few weeks ago.
For the second time in days, I am heartbroken. This time there is no coming back, she has moved in with another man. I lost my wife and now I have lost my daughter. I will live the rest of my life alone.
Last time I posted, some people were supportive (thank you, you have no idea how much your compassion meant to me) but one or two were really mean in the comments. Once again, this was a consensual, adult relationship that my daughter pursued. I made big sacrifices for our relationship. You can disagree with this kind of relationship but don't make it out to be something sinister and coercive. You don't know me. You didn't know my daughter, my lover.
Now she is gone and all I can do is cry, and hopefully drink myself into a stupor to dull the pain. Please pray for me.
