Back When Virtue Kept Us Pure

For reasons too many to list here I finished college still a virgin. I was embarrassed about it, but I met other virgin teachers as I went along. We were a club of sorts, the unwanted ones. We laughed about it, promising to tell if our condition changed.

My change occurred unexpectedly, in a farm house by a farm hand. My family was invited to a weekend retreat and I was the one tricked into the barn. Not tricked so much as enticed. I surrendered willingly. His name was Joe, or not. He was a bit older, working his way cross country.

The first of the unwanted to fall, my fellow matrons fell one by one. Once our shame was behind us we had the courage to show the men that we weren't the wall flowers they had taken us to be.
