Once You Love Another Girl, You Find Nirvana

I left home doon after high school following a friend who had moved to Colorado. I got jobs working fast food, living in shared apartments with other kids. My friend helped when she could but her college allowance only went so far. When she moved off campus I moved in with her. The apartment was small with one bathroom and we shared a bed in one of the rooms.

We tried to live a normal life but the constant closeness gave into our base instincts. We continued to pretend nothing was going on, even after we were touching, and had resorted to long periods of kissing.

At her insistence I started taking classes and got a job on campus. By the time she graduated I had enough hours to get an associate degree in business adm!nistration. We left college, moved to the west coast where all pretensions were dropped and we held ourselves out as lesbians.

By the time we turned thirty we had both met and married men and had started families. We stayed close friends, no longer lovers we loved platonically. And so it is today. What was high school BFW, and evolved into loving girlfriends, moved on to a platonic level. Girls I believe can love forever, I don't know whether guys have that chemistry.
