My Husband Accepts Me But That Does Not Make It Easy To Accept Myself
My secret is a common secret. Now it is not so much of a secret. I have always had feelings for this woman. Deep feelings. She is very reserved and religious. We do have relations, but it is very seldom.
I was married before I was twenty and I was not sure of my feelings. I have children and a husband and I work at an industry. My feelings are a deep desire to be with her. When I am with her I want to be close to her. I am not so afraid now but she does not want to be the way she is and we have many discussions. I want to show her my feelings, not just talk about it.
When these feelings began I had many problems with my husband. We went to a woman to help us, and in a woman only conference she was able to help me tell her about my feelings for my friend. She insisted that I tell my husband, he needed to know. Even if it meant the end of my marriage.
My husband was quiet and listened and told me that he always felt that I had this secret. But that I am not excused from my responsibilities to him or my children. I talk to him always about my friend. I have no one else to listen to me. He helps me when I am with her, he has a way of bringing calm to her. He has helped me understand that her religion will not allow her to be the way she is. I accept myself with his understanding.
I do not hold myself from my husband. I did for a long time, but not any more. I have my problem but it should not be my husband's problem. And my friend, maybe one day she will be able accept who she really is, and that I will be there to comfort her.
My husband is here with me. He thinks it is good for me to say these things. Sorry, my English.
