I Have A Friend Born With No Arms, Born A Lesbian Is Not A Problem

On advice from my therapist I joined a lesbian support group for 'married with children'. In my group there are six women. I'm in the middle of the group, thirty, two children, married six years.

Frankly I don't mind having a husband, or that he is the boss of us. It's my mother. A lifelong lesbian she has never seen it my way. So I'm really here to find ways to deal with my mother. All of us have parent or parents that does not accept our lifestyle.

I got married over a weekend in Mexico, then again in H a week later. I woke up with him and got scared. I was 24. He decided he would keep me on one condition. I became his 'wife' in every sense.

It's not sex, it's not money, it's not security. I married him, that's all. Now I have two kids, a house, a dog. And my mother doesn't like him. He's too 'independent'. But he's the father of her grandchildren. It's the husband part she doesn't like. "How can you?"

I was born after a 'r**e'. That's her story. My grandmother corrects her, she was high and my father got in her pants. At least I was fully awake when I got pregnant. I know my father, he thinks getting married was the best decision I've made. That and having kids.

I can't 'help' being a lesbian, it's just that is not number one in my life. My husband, my kids, my house. That's one half of number one. My long life girlfriend, she's the other half of number one.
