I went to NYC on business. A college friend lived there. He was gay and insisted we go to Gay Pride that weekend. The gay men didn't bother me, but the gay women did. A large woman with a young girl on a dog leash. Two bare breasted middle aged women chained to each other from their nipples. A young woman totally naked holding a sign 'I eat pussy'. It bothered me.
My friend thought all along it was the explicit sexual behavior of the gay men. He was turned on by it, I never noticed it. We went to a small restaurant and were lucky to find a table. A young waitress with rainbow earrings served the table. I asked her how old she was, she said eighteen, but she was younger.
I waited for her to get off work. She was surprised to see me. I told her I wanted her to come with me, give me a few minutes to talk with her. I told her that I was like her. She offered to talk there, so we stood against the building, out if the way of passers by. I asked her, why was she doing this to herself, she had her life ahead of her. She may not have had the choice of being her, but she had the choice of what she did about it. That night she slept with me, I wasn't able to control my feelings.
We are born to people we don't know, we are born in a time that we don't choose, our make up we don't control, but we do control our actions. And leaving her to that life was not something I wanted. I took her with me, across country, to live with me, to be my one and only. Where I could give her the opportunity to finish growing up to be normal.
It's my soft spot.
