Joining The Legion Of Women Before Me, I'm A New Mother With A Toddler

I know first hand that when your inner core is conquered your silly putty in his hands. It's taken me the pandemic and these last four years to understand that you can't fight nature. When you lay back knowing full well that he is and will get you pregnant, you have submitted. You get up and pray he's the man, because you are now forever tied to him.

The inside the home dynamic is 98% your mother's. Someone has to change the baby, someone has to pick up the house, clean the kitchen, and you are born and raised to it and it's your home now and you do it. He goes to work, he puts up with all that entails, it's his responsibility. I can't, although I've tried, not clean up, and have the baby ready when he comes home.

I am in a support group at church, yes I've become a church goer again, a support group for new mothers. The simple message is, grow up, shut up, clean the kitchen. He helps, but it's my responsibility. And yes I buy pink and pretty, I can't go grey and amorphous. I have a dozen bows for her hair, and dresses. Her room has stuffed kitties and bunnies, and is decorated with pictures of little girls in Easter dresses.

I lost the battle before it started. I can't emphasize to you, to be a mother.
