My Friend's Wedding Was Called Off Today

He had traveled all the way to Europe with his bride, for a picture-perfect ceremony, months in planning. Friends and family and important guests were gathered.

At the last minute, when the ceremony had already begun, it was cancelled.

Apparently, it's not OK to marry someone 30 years your junior, even if you love each other.

I thought we lived in a society that was increasingly free and that place value on personal happiness and fulfillment. I'm spiraling after today's decision, and hoping my friend and his fiancée are coping.

If the bride was at least 18, that makes your friend at least 48.

If he's 48 and is still letting other people tell him what he can and can't do, then he needs to grow up. His ex bride-to-be got lucky that she didn't marry a man-child.

The bride is 30 years younger? The groom had better be very rich and exceptionally very well g*fted sexually - or it would have all ended in tears…

It was a horrible setback for May-December romance, the world over.

I mean, I guess this was more March-December romance, but still!

There is no restriction on how much age difference a 19 year old has married a 92 year old woman . A girl that i worked with . Married a man 38 years older than her .
