Frankly, I think 12 is too young to be wearing makeup to school. If she wants to learn how to apply it at home, that's something else. This is a good time to teach her that she's beautiful without a faceful of paint and to learn to be happy with who she is.

If you're going to let her do this anyway, stick with things that aren't too obvious - clear lip gloss or a little bit of mascara.

Do you let her wear thongs or little bikini panties?

Why? Do you want pictures?

(one serious question on the entire board and the pervs have to come out)

If you have pictures, I would like to see them. I just simply asked if you let her wear little panties or especially thongs. I understand mom's don't want their young daughter wearing thongs although it would be nice to see their butt cheeks. Remember you bought it up. As the mother, do you wear thongs?

you sicken me, as I guess is probably your objective. I don't believe you are a pervert more just a socio-path, you need to get a life if posting on this board gives you a kick, personally if I was the web master I'd block you.

Anyway back to the question of make up, I think that it would be important to give her a good skincare regime (it's worth investing in good quality, gentle products) as this will mean she doesn't feel she has to cover up with make up.

It's important to put the emphasis on natural beauty - buying her a few essentials such as tinted moisturiser, eyelash curlers, a nice lipbalm and eyebrow tweezers will send out the mesage that you understand it's normal for her to be starting to care about her appearance whilst still encouraging her to look youthful and natural.

Allowing her hairdresser to find the most flattering hair colour for her skin tone, perhaps adding highlights or lowlights, will give her a lift and help to build her confidence.

Not wearing panties would give her confidence.

As typical on this website, good questions such as yours often get derailed by a few jackasses.

Anyway, I'd agree that 12 is young for makeup. This is a good time to teach her how to keep her face clean, use a *little* foundation and some lightly colored lip gloss. Anything more than that is likely to make her appear skanky.
