I need some advice..

Okay well i'm dating this guy and we've been dating for about 2 years now. We've talked so much together about one day getting married and starting a family. So the thing is my birthday is coming up in 2 months and he had asked me what I wanted for my birthday. So I thought about it and I told him I would like a promise ring. I thought it would be perfect. He said he would..then the next day he asked me if he could just buy me a 14k neckles instead. Personally, I want the ring.

But what should I do ?? And why do you think he'd rather just get me the neckles ?

Probably because he's cheating on you and buying a promise ring will make him feel guilty.

he could possibly already have your engagement ring and waiting on the right time to give it to you. and he'd rather buy you a necklace instead of another ring.

I got the neckles once. They gave me shots and antibiotics for it. Very painful.

Anyway, you can't tell people what to give you as a gift. If you guys are serious about each other and you said you'd like something to seal the promise, then you have to let him give you what he thinks is appropriate. If that's not good enough, then maybe you guys aren't meant to be together.

If he gets you a promise necklace and you don't like it, then give it back and find someone else with the same taste in jewelry you have.

You want a ring, he wants out, forget about getting married.

Yep..sounds like he may be avoiding marriage. Better keep looking for Mr. Right somewhere else.

Is it too hard to just ask him Dear I really want a promise ring not a neckless is there a certain reason why it must be a neckless instead?

He might have a good reason but ppl here can only guess at it.

I wouldnt ask him that, you don't want to appear desperate. He may bnot be quite sure if you are the one he wants to marry. You don't want to put that kind of pressure on a guy. It may make him scared and cause him to want to leave the relationship altogether. Just wait a few more months and if he doesnt present you with a ring, just tell him you need more commitment from him or else you are going to have to move on. Christmas is a good time to expect a ring. You don't want to force him or make him feel awkwardly about the ring though.

Anyone whiney enough to pout when they don't get a specific piece of promise jewelry probably isn't mature enough to be married anyway.

I'm not desperate. I just really love him and I don't wanna loose him. I thought you know if I asked for a promise ring then I wouldn't have to worry about loosing him to someone else.

You sound desperate. If you two were mature enough to be picking your lifemate and were 'meant' to be together, the two of you would be much more in sync. The fact you're insisting that he give you some specific piece of jewelry and that he doesn't want to suggests that neither of you is ready to married.

Stay with him, be friends, get to know each other and grow up a little. Then, if you're still together, he'll know you better and offer you something that he knows you'll like. You'll know him better and accept it as the token of love it's meant to be.

In your mind it's a piece of jewelry that you don't like and not a token of love. You don't get it and neither does he. Grow up for a while and you'll realize how silly this all sounds.
