I Got Caught

I (19m) have a long distance girlfriend (19f) and the other day I talked to a girl on social media and tried to convince her to have sex with me. She knows I have a girlfriend and went to her with this information. We had a big talk and I felt horrible but we are staying together and working it through.

I realize now that I did not feel bad about cheating but only about getting caught. I love my girlfriend and want to stay with her but also still want to cheat, this time without getting caught and being successful. I am terrible at talking to girls in person even though this would be the best way to not get caught so I may try some things.
