One Day My Life Changed
I was out with some coworkers at a dive, a low end club that one of my coworkers talked about. I felt ill, then worse, started shaking uncontrollably, I fell and couldn't get up. A guy picked me up and carried me out of the club, he stopped a car and I was driven to a hospital. He carried me in and told the staff I had been poisoned. I passed out, when I woke up I was in a room, hooked up to monitors. A nurse came in and asked him how 'your wife' is doing.
I had a headache, and felt bad all over. He leaned over me, said he was Robinson, and he told them I was his wife so I was covered by insurance. As his common law wife. He checked me out at noon and took me to his apartment. He said the hospital nurse wanted me to remain in bed until the next day. He let me call my roommate to bring me some clothes and be prepared to stay with me.
He signed me up at his company. He gave his address as mine, his common law wife. I spent the night and felt better, he took me and my roommate out to eat. He told me I had been alcohol poisoned. I was lucky I wasn't blind, or worse, dead.
It's been several months, I'm still his common law wife. I'm now on his bank account, my ID has his address. My clothes and things are at his place. He isn't pleased with me, because I'm not sleeping with him. I'm tired of being told that I need to grow up about it. He brought a marriage license home for me to sign, and go before a judge so it's all legal.
I know that he saved me from loosing my sight or maybe dying. Now I'm his 'wife'.
