Found A Hurt Puppy Took Her Home With Me To Heal

In the dark of Bourbon Street I walked down with a friend who was with me for a convention. He decided to stop and listen to a street preacher and I walked on alone. I cut through a side street and found an unconscious college girl beat up pretty bad. I got some cops to call an ambulance, but they didn't investigate, not even her name. The ambulance told me where they were taking her, I found a cab and followed her.

The hospital would not share anything, she was a Jane Dow because she had no ID on her. I convinced the nurse to consider me next of kin and let me see her. In the hospital light she was badly beat up. She came to the next morning, said her name was Sharon. I took her home to her parents. She missed that semester and the next. She recovered, she had been in NO celebrating a friends 21st birthday.

I stayed in touch, talked to her weekly, pushed her to finish school, she had two semesters to complete and we got the school to give her a no penalty drop for the semester when she was beat up. I went to her graduation, along with her parents. I told them that I would take her with me, and take care of her.

She's doing a lot better, but dark strange places still bother her. She works in a company for a friend of mine, bookkeeping but no customer contact. She is my little sister, and I take care of her.
