Back When I Was Thirty Two

I went to work for an insurance company as an actuary. The company also owned a funeral company. That's where I got sent. Figuring out haw many insured were going to die, who also had prepaid plots and or services. Time is money. Maybe the insurance policies could be packaged and sold off to investors.

I met Ralph there, he worked as a salesman at the funeral home. He and I went to a bar he knew about. Me against the wall with a beer, getting used to the light, two guys dancing, one of them with a cowboy hat. Ralph came up and asked if I wanted to dance. I had to tell him I didn't dance, I wanted to get down to business. Was he interested?

Ralph was a guy who liked to perform. And I was the guy looking for that. Ralph did not disappoint. At least going through the files at the funeral home wasn't a total waste of time.
