One Day At A Time Before I Can Bring Her Home With Me

I went to Lisbon with a friend when we were working remotely. I met a girl from Romania and we got involved romantically. She wanted to move to the US so I agreed to marry her. She's Catholic and the whole lesbian thing got to her. But getting into the US was important so we got married in Portugal. Getting all the papers was a bigger problem, and the consulate flagged it as sham marriage.

I had to return because of my job, and she stayed in Lisbon. I hired a lawyer, but he said good luck with my case, it was going nowhere. After six months I gave up. She was put on a watch list, with a ten year hold on any visa.

Well, here I am in Porto, living with Alexandra, she is a waitress and I'm doing freelance social media advertising. Ten years, one day at a time.
