I met a guy. we swapped phones numbers and met up. we had an amazing time. he's so intellgient and witty and ambitious, he ticks all the right boxes and is gorgeous to top it all of, he has a smile which melts me! he seemed pretty smitten with me and was always tellin me how thankful he is that we met and how good we connect together. there's only one problem. i'm 16 and he's 22. we both knew it was a big age gap, although only 6 years difference really he has had so much more experience and wisdom form those 6 years and i still seem very young. although he said i am very mature for my age, which i agree with and am often told by people and i do look older tahn 16 too but still the facts remain. i am just 16, only recently finished compulsary education and he is 22, with his own appartment and job. he thinks we should finish it and i know deep down this is the reponsible and decent thing to do. i just had to tell some-one what i great guy he is and how happy he's made me over these last few weeks.

You said, "he thinks we should finish it." Finish what?? At 16 you should of by now learned to proof read before you send.

i meant he thinks we should finish the relationship that we had started. i really don't see what the problem is, what was wrong with me saying "he thinks we should finish it."

Go ahead and have sex with him and then you can tell if you feel the same about him.

"Finish," as in end it, break up, go your own way?? That is what "finish" means.

Hmmm.
This is a tough one.
If you live in the U.S.A. then he could be charged with statutory rape in some states.
Whatever others tell you, unless you have been steralized, there is some risk of pregnancy each time you have sex and regardless of the precautions taken.
Condoms are the most likely of birth control measures to fail.
So consider that if you have or will have sex with this man.

Good as this relationship feels to you, if he wants to break up then maybe it doesn't feel as good to him.
Tell him how you feel; show him this thread and see what he says.
You may be mature enough for this and 6 years won't mean much in 5 or IO years.
On the other hand, in my experience, I6 is pretty young to know what you want for the rest of your life.
Why don't you talk it over with an older sister, aunt, or other woman you can trust?

No, I would just go ahead and have sex with him. Don't worry about any precautions, but if you are in the middle of your cycle ask him to pull out before he comes.

Your an IDIOT giving poor advice.
Male pre-cum contains sperm and even though on her period she can still get pregnant. My guess is even most morons know females have 2 Ovaries.

What are you doing with a petaphile? Thats just sick. Where the hell are your parents. I would kick his ass if he came after my 16 yr old daughter. You are just a kid have some fun before you get all involved with adult shit like sex and the risk of disease or worse pregancy. Go to football games and dances, don't be in such a hurry to go up, date boys your own age.

2370 is sooo right. when you're 20 and he's 26 it won't be a big deal, but there's a big leap from being a teenager and minor and a legal adult. technically he could be called a pedophile...there's probably a good reason he thinks you should finish it, i mean would a 15 yr old guy want to go out with a 9 yr old girl? i hope not! and yeah i agree wtf dont your parents care????

ps. if you're 16 an you just finished education, either you're super smart and graduated highschool early (in that case why don't you have enough commone sense to get in safer relationships??), super dumb and just graduated 8th grade, or dropped out.
