I have a confession to make and i hate that im even admitting this on this anonymous website. I was best friends with this girl for like, 4 years. Well, she is such a whore, that after having an argument with me one day, she decides to just leave town with some guy that she hadnt even ever met online, he just sent her a plane ticket and she left without even telling me. She finally called me like, 2 weeks after leaving and acted like nothing had happend. She's been gone a little over a year now, but i still cant get over being "dumped". I'm kinda obsessed with her. I tell all my friends that i hate her when they bring her up, but i think about her all the time. I've even gone as far as telling people that my hair is naturally red just because her's really is naturally red. i hate her for everything, and at the same time, i love her. im a straight girl, with a boyfriend of almost 5 years, so im not in love with her or anything, i just cant get over her. i hate her, yet, i want to be her at the same time. im really fucked up.

I don't think that's unnatural. A friendship has elements of love just like a romantic relationship. Think of the latin words for love: eros and agape. Eros is the love like lust, that you might have for a boyfriend or spouse. Agape is a kind of spiritual love that you have for a friend.

It's very hard to get over a betrayal or "dumping" of a friend. Keep you head up and stay positive--maybe y'all can be friends again in the future. If not, there are probably good things from your relationship with her. Celebrate that, and look to make new friends.

Don't be ashamed of who you are or where you've come from. It's good and bad experiences that shape a person.
