No..not always. I remember my first time, when it was stretched and broken(hymen) it itched and was sore for a while as it was healing.
I would get an exam anyway to make sure.

I did go to the gyno though afterward. It turned out I was fine, but I was just lucky. I would get checked anyway..seriously.
