I got my period maybe a day or 2 ago, and I haven't found really nice pads that fit me. My Mom uses Always, and the smallest they have is just so big on me I have to waddle to move around comfy. (I'm just using my ol' pantyliners)Do you know of any brand that has a REALLY small pad? Like, for young teens or something? Please let me know.

I don't know anything about smaller pads, but have you ever tried tampons. They make all sorts of small tampons from teens. When I first started I used playtex slim fits. :-)

you could always try some of the ones designed for thong underwear. they're usually a bit slimmer between the legs. but yeah, the best thing is still tampons. a bit weird at first, but way easier, more comfortable, less sweaty, less smelly and no grosser than a used pad. and if you think about it, if you can't touch yourself there then how are you gonna take a guy/doctor/midwife/baby. learn to be comfortable with your body.

She just said tampons grossed her out; she didn't make any mention about touching herself; maybe she just didn't like the idea of them up inside her. At her age I'm sure she enjoys touching herself at times.

fair enough. i only mention it cos the reason my sister dislikes the idea is cos she's squeamish about touching herself like that. just trying to help. i still fail to understand how a tampon "up there" is gross? it's merely cotton wool. But hey, each to their own and if she's not comfortable with the idea then she's not.

How old are you anyway? You sound a little too young to be on this site.

Try Stayfree Pads. They come with or without wings. There are ultra thins, overnights, and maxi-pads. Stayfree maxi-pads are the kind we have in the machines at school.

Up to 6 or 8 hours, but if you're heavy then it can be less. Just don't try to change them too often - when they're still dry they tend to "stick" when you try to pull them out and the friction isn't nice. and honestly - once it's in you'll forget all about it. you can't feel it or anything.

A tampon tip: Every time you pee, give the tampon string a little tug. If it's loose, it's time to change the tampon. If it doesn't move, then let it in. Tampons can be worn from 4 to 8 hours, unless your flow is heavy. Just be sure to wear the right absorbency for each day of your period. Tampons come in: slim, light, regular, and super.
