i started to fall pretty hard for this guy. he was quite a bit older than me and my friends didn't like him. i was so afraid that i was being taken advantage of, that i got him to stop talking to me.

i ended up messing around with this guy a couple weeks after, that i've had a crush on for years.

that went on for about a month, he used me for sex and money. i also now have to get a pregnancy test and get tested for herpes.

after going through all of this, i realized that guy #1 was not using me at all. my friends just didn't want to see me happy. this guy will probably never talk to me again. especially if i am pregnant to someone else and have herpes. i am going to hate myself forever because of this.

Its a shame you didn't figure it out sooner..funny how friends are. And you are right..chances are he wouldn't give you the time of day. You just need to deal with the life you chose..

One sad thing about being young, is that we're all a little bit gullible and depend too much on the input and "advice" of so called friends (who do not have to LIVE with the consequences of their advice we took to heart). You are already paying a heavy price in guilt, and with the possibility that you are pregnant and have contracted an incurable disease, you have some 'tangible' consequences with which to deal. Your thinking is right -- get tested and get past BOTH of these guys. Review your friendships and RENEW only those who (in the aftermath of this) clearly were unbiased, unselfish and genuine in their concern and advice to you.

If it turns out that you are pregnant and have HSV-2, you have some immediate decisions to make about your pregnancy and you need counsel from a medical professional (should your choice be to give birth) about protecting your unborn child from contracting HSV-2 her- or himself (it is a major cause of blindness in infants). If HSV-2 is present, you'll need to be upfront with others and honest with yourself. Either way, protected (safe) sex is the only kind you will want to enjoy. If you have HSV-2 and fess up early, prospective mates can and some will opt for either the "door" or safe sex. If you have it and pass it along, you will find that you will have lost the opportunity to enjoy his TRUST and RESPECT. Word will get around, and when it does, if you think you're feeling badly now, a major wake-up call awaits.

I hope that your worries are without a basis, but if they are, remember you are still a worthy human being and capable of far more than you ever imagined possible, especially self-forgiveness! Best to you.
