I'm Roman Catholic. Born and raised. However, I'm coming to realize that I don't really agree with all aspects of the church. For instance, the whole sex before marriage thing. I personally believe that some rules change with the times. I think that God is okay with us having a little fun before marriage. Something that I consider to support this theory is birth control. I believe that God inspires people to think up these ideas we get. I believe that God had a plan for the changing standards and inspired somebody to think up the first condom, the pill, and so on and so forth. But I also believe that He created sexually transmitted infections/diseases to have us be careful or there wil be concequences. I believe that having a child before marriage or some kind of serious commitment is wrong. I personally think that abortion is okay under the right circumstances. If God had known that people would be attracted to others of the same sex/gender he would have planned for a way to have children as well. I believe that God just wants what is best for us and what makes us happy, and that we pretty much can figure that out for ourselves. With saying this, i would really like to go through with confirmation (for those who do not know it's like a second baptism that we choose for ourselves instead of our parents/guardians). The problem is, with me not completely agreeing with all aspects of the church I'm not sure if I should do it. Any comments on the subject would be great, and opinions are appreciated as well.

I understand in what you are going through. I have been raised as a Christian my entire life, but at the same time I have had some problems withs no sex before marriage part. I see that men and women can be attracted to each other, for fun both clean and dirty. You need to make a decision in what you want to do and what you think is right along with God. I won't have sex until marriage......but unless I find that person that may be the one, and we both want to go the extra mile fine. A big problem I have with religion that many of my friends and I agree on is that the rules of religion has changed as time has gone on. For example the bible talks about not eating certian foods b/c it was unclean...that was for the times it was written. Go through with being baptize. Being extremely for or against something isn't always the best policy. Moderation is.
