I used to be a salon manager at a very small salon. I came to a point where working 15 hours a week for minimum wage around my 40 hours of school each week left me with not enough money for gas to drive to work. We accepted donations for a sponsored child and I was responsible for sending in the $80 that we had collected for his Christmas gifts. I needed money to make it back to work so I took the $80 with intentions of replacing it. Dumb ass that I am, I lied to my inquisitive boss about sending in the money order a few days after having taking it. I couldn't explain why the sponsor hadn't received any money. She found out the next day after investigating and called to confront me about it. At this point I just shut down because I didn't have money to replace what I had stolen from this child and salon owner. I pulled a "no call no show" at work from there on out because I didn't want to deal with it. I didn't return the key and $80 until the salon owner called the police and I was asked to return everything asap. Nothing ever happened after that. I'm a remorseful pile of shit.
