Over 2 years ago, I was in a miserable marriage with my wife of over 25 years. We had a different world view, different religious views, different likes/dislikes, and different future aspirations. Our sex life was also awful, and I tended to avoid her because she was so incredibly controlling. But we had 5 kids together and I'd been waiting for them all to reach adult (or near adult) ages. Unfortunately, the state of our marriages meant that both of us were susceptible to cheating. It's not an excuse, and cheating is wrong, but it's often part of our human condition.

The point of my post is to say that I met a woman for a mutual booty call via craigslist. We had both used that medium in the past with some good results and some very bad results, but we never imagined what would happen next. She was a divorced single mother. The surprise was, we really enjoyed each other's company. We shared likes, dislikes and we loved to talk and share life. It's now been over 2 years later, and we live together and we're both very happy. Statistics say that relationships that start like ours did usually don't work out. That could be true for us, and only time will tell. But we've both been through a lot in our lives, and we're delighted to share our lives together now.

And the sex is amazing.

And your ex is now free to enjoy sex with others who know how. Every time she hears your name she smiles because she is free, not because of past memories, those bring tears. Think, why did you two have problems, sex is the only answer. She wasn't satisfying you, why? Because you were not satisfying her. There is always to sides to ever tail.

(Original poster): I totally agree there's always two sides to a story, and I truly hope she (ex-wife) finds someone that she can be happy with. A horrible sex life wasn't the main problem in our marriage. Her father was a very controlling man with a temper, and her mother wanted out of the marriage but chose to stay. I got married at 19, not realizing that my wife was just like her father. And I let her have her way for over 25 years (she wanted a big family; and to stay home and not work; and have lots of animals (19 cats at one point); and a nice car)... the list goes on and on. But when you spend your life making someone else happy, you finally reach a point where you are completely empty inside and battle resentment. Which is not a good way to live.

Everyone has a unique story, and I know that many women would find my situation more to their experience (e.g., a controlling husband with a temper). It's unusual when it's the other way around, but such was the case for me.
