With a friend we went to Chicago for a concert. While we were there, we went to a club and had too much to drink. We got picked up by a guy at the club and we ended up at his place without our car. He had sex with my friend first, and with may later. My friend and I woke up together with a bad hangover. He gave us some coffee and toast, and we went back to bed. He woke us up sometime later wanting sex again, which he took from my friend. Late that afternoon he took us back to our car.

There are many feelings here, one is that we had sex with a man we did not know. Fortunately, there are no unwanted health issues or a pregnancy, but that is just luck. My friend and I are embarrassed of what happened, and the fact that we were with each other when a man had sex with us is embarrassing.

I don't know where this will go, I do know that what happened was bad for us. My anger with him is gone, he just took advantage of us because we let him. The fact that the same man had sex with both of us at the same time is the most difficult thing to overcome. At the time it was hot, uncomfortably hot to watch, and have her watch him have sex with me.

I don't understand the "problem"... It sounds like you don't consider bit tape and it sounds like it was pretty consensual even if it was fueled by alcohol. Besides the lack of protection, I don't see how it was "bad for you" or your friend unless you're saying you and your friend can't get over being naked together and enjoying a one-off weekend. Better the two of you were there together than on your own with no one there to trust. Sounds like the biggest issue here is your own hangups about sex and what a woman is "supposed" to do or not do. Don't let some stranger make you feel like some terrible "slut" or less of a moral person just because you wanted to have some fun.

This isn't about owning their sexuality or female empowerment. They clearly were in a position that neither of them wanted to be in. It's cringeworthy. She's not prone to one night stands. She respects her friend and does not think of her in that way AT ALL. This is what you have to understand. To the OP, chalk it up as another life experience and one that you may never repeat again.
