This is about a bad decision. During college I was working as a maid in a hotel for the summer at a resort. You go in and out of rooms all day and this one room I went in and the people's jewelry was right there, diamond stud earrings, a bracelet and a watch. I cleaned and made up the room and when I left I took the earrings. They reported that the earrings were missing and I was the only one that had been in their room so I was accused and I ended up being confronted by the couple in the Manager's office. I denied everything but I got fired.
I never wore the earrings, I still have them in a small box in my dresser drawer. I don't think they are really that expensive, now that I am older I know that they are not that big. I think about throwing them away, putting them in a something heavy and dropping them in the lake. But I haven't and they are still there and I move the box around when I put my clothes away. I have not opened the box since I put them in the box all those years ago.
Someday after I am dead someone is going to find them and someone will wear them.
