Maybe I Am Maybe I'm Not, But I Am Going To Find Out

First, I say I'm straight, but now I don't know.

I grew up in the South. I'm in college my mother's cousin invited me to D.C. where she lived for my 21st birthday. She was much older than my mother and was recently retired from the Department of Agriculture where she worked. She was never married and to me dressed like a man. I met my first butch woman.

She took me to see the sights, to some interesting restaurants to see interesting people. She gave me a g*ft for my birthday, a girl's best friend. An anatomically correct penis in a box.

She was open about her sexuality, told me she had a thing for ballet dancers. We went to dinner with a 'couple', two women lawyers who worked in the government. She introduced me to grad student at Georgetown, telling us that we should get along fine. She set me up on a gay date.

I am not gay, I am from the South, reserved. I have had a boyfriend and I am not a virgin. Over these last few months I have spent almost every day talking, Facetiming, and thinking about and resorting to my girl's best friend dreaming about 'that girl' from Georgetown. We shared dinner and a long walk on the Mall, and now I can't get her out of my mind. It's not safe but she is going to fly down and stay with us for a week or two. I am living at my parents, so we are going to be on our best behavior. Maybe hold hands like we did that night that we met.

It's definitely worth pursuing.
