Ok, this isn't really a confession, just a bit of advice. I recently had a smear test which revealed I had early cervical cancer. I'm 28 and haven't been around very much, and I was shocked at first because I thought it only really happened to tarts and whores. I have been extremely lucky because the surgeons have been able to remove the whole cancer and it is highly unlikely I will need any further treatment.

The point of me writing this is to stress to all women of smear-testing age to get themselves checked regularly. I know it's not a particularly pleasant thing to have done, but a minute of slight discomfort can save your life. I'm not trying to preach or anything but I just feel so grateful that I now have the all clear.

I totally agree with you. A little education can go a long ways. And this country needs a lot of it. I would also recommend practicing safe sex.

Just curious. Cancer has nothing to do with a woman being a tart or whore, so where on earth did you get your information to think such a thing? I think it's sad. Luckily you caught the problem in time. Good for you.

I didn't get any definite information about links between whoring and cervical cancer, it's just that in the UK there is a bit of a stigma attached to it. I know it's possible to get it aged 18 after having sex with one partner, it's just that sometimes people assume that it's only people who have been around who have cancer "down there".
