My neighbor is an alcoholic. He drove drunk daily for over two years. A beat up old truck which always sounded like that day would be its last. The day came when he was pulled over and given a DWI. This is his 2nd in 10 years. He as put on house arrest, probation for five years, and ordered not to drink, attend outpatient counseling, and work. He has two hours weekly in which he can do his own thing. Here's the issue: It's Friday night, Memorial weekend, he is drinking with his buddies in his back yard, music going and they built a bomb fire in the back yard. We live in a city and all I smell is a camp fire. It gets in my house so I have to close all the windows, not to mention the 60's music. It's late, almost 10:30pm (maybe not late to some but I'm tired) and would like to go to bed. I worry that the fire is going to catch on something and there goes the neighborhood. I understand that he wants to continue drinking, but does not want to violate his house arrest, but what good is this doing anyone. He is still drinking. I guess it is only a matter of time before he gets behind the wheel again.
