Nothing New Under The Sun

These days there does seem to be a lot of bother about bisexual and lesbian, and I think that this is just the modern way of doing things, and creating a lot of fuss and controversy which is just another form of enteratinment.

I grew up back in the fifties when peolpe really were not so concerned over attaching labels to every blessed thing.

There was just a general acceptance of there being a certain amount of bisexuality between girls and between women just so long as it was discrete.

I attended a private women’s college, and although sex education was not on the prospectus, there was definitely that on the female side of things. Today we would all be branded lesbians for sure. But bisexuality if you want to call it that, was common and wide spread. We girls enjoyed a lot of sexual freedom. The campus was secluded and woodsy and there was a private lake. Going around nude was the norm for recreational activities, and gong for nature walks down to the lake and sunning ourselves there as well as swimming and canoeing, was all done in the nude. And yes, there was a lot of playing around on these outings.

We also had established the Mary Shelly Literary Society, where we all met in the buff and had a great time discussing literature and having the occasional what you would orgy. I remember having sex with five or six different girls during those events and it was fantastic! The same for our outings. We only had women professors and I think that a requirement for them was to be a lesbian, so teacher-student interactions were hardly uncommon, and I had a fairly serious relationship with one professor that went on for over a year. The school also had a number of African-American young women, as it was a very forward looking school for its time, believe me.

But did we think of ourselves as being lesbians? Not really. We were just healthy young women interested in having some fun, a good time and sex as well as getting a top notch education. We really did study there and had high academic standards.

For me, and really all of us, it was a preparation for life. I went on and was married for for thirty years. My husband and I loved each other very much and he had several affairs, and I had several, one with a man and two with other women. In life sex is just another commodity to be enjoyed.

My husband passed away eight years ago, and since then I have been living with another woman, and I suppose that you would have to call this a lesbian relationship. I just think of it as two friends having a relationship which includes love and sex. And even our age both of us still like to fuck.

Was this all normal everyday stuff? Well, not everyone attended a private woman’s college. But so far as female sexuality back then, bisexuality was certainly not uncommon and practiced regularly by friends and by a lot of bored urban housewives. It is important to remember that back then birth control was not so reliable, and if a woman wanted to fuck it was often just better and easier and safer to do that with another woman. So in that sense it was just practicality as much as anything else.

But, oh, gasp! Lesbians and bisexuals! Nothing new. Just that I think that young people today like to think that it is.

I am currently 25, a graduate of Northwestern. When I was in the dorm women hung together, women sat close together, sometimes we showered together. I became open to having a close relationship with another woman. At a point we held hands, at another point we kissed in front of other women, and laughed it off.

In my junior year I spent six weeks abroad. A classmate and I shared a small flat, with a double bed. We discovered each other, sex was prohibited, exciting, fun. It was my first fully sexual relationship. From making out, to feeling up, to fingering, to full oral sex. I don't consider myself a lesbian, I'm a confident woman and if I find myself with another woman who is confident I will gladly give her oral sex, I love eating pussy, it gets me so hot.
