Wrongly Accused

During Spring Break of 2019 my college roommate invited me to spend the week with her in Belize at her parent's beach house. The village was 15 minutes by Jeep. There wasn't really anything there, a small store, a gas station and a beachside bar and diner. Very primitive.

My friend and I basically hung out, as the house had a desolate beach and we took to topless sunbathing. A woman came in to cook and clean and she told told the local police we were lesbians, going around naked in public, and we were fornicating. When the police came and told us we were arrested for public homosexual behavior and public nudity we didn't know what to do. We were taken to the jail, a room in the back of the police office. A lawyer came and told us we were facing five years for public homosexuality and going naked in public.

The bottom line after being held for four weeks we were extorted out of several thousand dollars which her father paid, we had to drop the semester and defend ourselves before her father who believed the local lawyer and not us. Let me set things straight, we never did anything in public, except go topless on this secluded beach. The cleaning lady interpreted our friendship as us being lesbians, which we are not.

With the pandemic closures we have lost another year of college. We continue to defend ourselves with her father. My parents aren't much better. We are naturally affectionate with each other, from our first semester when we were paired by computer we have been best friends. We haven't met anyone to date, that doesn't make us lesbians.

Whether you are or not is not anyone's business but your own. As long as you were not doing anything in public. I would fire the bitch who turned you in immediately. What business is it of hers anyway. These shithole countries love to extort tourists, that's why I refuse to travel outside the US anymore. They are shitting on a lot of these places best ways to bring in income. Its just like all this bullshit about them nailing tourists with booze in Mexico. Fuck them.

I spent a year in Belize, you were extorted and the accuser, police, prosecutor and friendly lawyer were all in on it. It is not a place for young defenseless kids, much less girls.

on point with your need for denial, if you walk and talk like a duck, you are duck. You and your girlfriend are in phase two of reconciling your feelings for each other. Good luck. Phase three is telling mom and dad they are right.

Before travelling please research and know the laws of country you ll be visiting. While it's ok to go topless in you country, in theirs it my be considered indecent exposure. Some cultures may have different views on being topless or may assume that two close females being together may be lesbians. I lived in Latin America most of my life and that's considered normal, and you were extorted because of this...it was wrong what they did.
