My High School Math Teacher
I remember a male math teacher called Zack back from when I was still going to high school, a rather handsome sort... Zack had dark brown hair, a somewhat chiseled looking face, with a fairly strong-looking build, and a short beard upon his face, along with a set of deeply green eyes.
I heard talk of Zack among my little clique of friends, as well as overheard discussion of him among other groups, and once heard two teachers in a class room talking about him.
Zack himself was a rather quiet teacher, trying to focus on his job, yet he managed to be a bit intimidating when you dealt with him... He was actually a tall guy compared to most of the teachers, and was a former local boxer and football player, which added to how imposing it felt to be around him. A stern gaze that he had didn't make him seem soft, either
Yet... Despite that, you would realize he had a soft center, as he could ease tension of a lot of situations with a surprisingly civil and soft-spoken attitude, and was careful not to punish victims whom got dragged into fights unwillingly, also helped those that struggled in his math class, even giving sound advice to those in a rough point in their lives.
Sounds like a good teacher, right? I certainly thought so, especially after he saved me from getting expelled... I had a history of getting bullied by the cheerleaders of the school after disapproving of a few of them being bigots, and the rest of the teachers were always punishing me instead of the bullies, I was always painted as the aggressor because the bullies I dealt with had always been good as lying about what had happened, and that stupid crying act a couple of them were masters of.
... I was there, once more in the principles office, after another episode of being bullied by two of the cheerleaders, whom switched to feigning crying like I had hit them or something...
I heard they were planning on kicking me out for being a troublemaker, especially since someone (one of those damned cheer-leading bitches) stuffed cigars in my bag at some point, which got me in hotter water...
Suddenly, I hear Zack's voice in there mentioning how he heard the details of their strategy, how they wanted to get me in trouble, and they knew that this would get me expelled to boot. He begun to argue in my defense for what seemed like a good five minutes... then all the charges were all dropped, and Zack told me I was going to be fine before wandering off.
The next few minutes or so, Zack, and a couple of the other teachers, were literally dragging the cheerleading squad into the damned office, and they were all chewed out something fierce for that stunt, then a few getting expelled instead, and the rest given detention for a year. I saw those bitches shocked reactions, and I had to try hard to avoid smugly smiling at how the roles had reversed...
That really made my whole year, since after that, I didn't get bullied again by the remaining cheerleaders.
I grew rather fond of Zack after all of that, taking anytime I could to talk with him, and asking for him to help me with math when I could. I felt he was a really good friend.
I think I had a big crush on him the whole time, but I kept that secret, of course.
I've been talking to him since after my graduation years ago, and he sort of inspired me to become a teacher as well.
He's single still, and not seemingly interested in anyone based on what I've heard, and still as friendly as ever. If only I could approach him, but considering I used to be a student of his, that would without a doubt be creepy.
Oh, how life marches on, yet the geekiness of some things can linger.
