They have a two year old that runs back and forth and back and forth, then jumps on the ground, then jumps off the furniture. God forbid they get up but no, they just yell and scream at him from across the room and he just keeps doing it! I finally loose it after listening to these morons for 3 and 4 hours at a time and this jerk has the nerve to stomp back, then continue letting his kid run around over our heads. I've talked to the apartment management 3 times and they suggested that WE move?!?! What?! Now I have to come up with money to move because they can't control their kid!?

Yep.
You have to come up with the money to move.
2 year olds make noise and mess.
People have different styles of child rearing.
Get over it and get out.

I still can't understand WHY people in apartments complain. You are in an APARTMENT. You share common walls of a dwelling. Thats what you GET in apartment living. If you don't LIKE it then BUY a single family home. Other wise.....SHUT THE FUCK UP. Now if you are in a single family home and your neighbors make all kinds of noise that bothers the neighborhood THEN you can complain.

i live in a townhouse with two small children and its hard to expect children to sit down and be quiet sometimes. However, my kids are forbidden to hit the walls or jump from the furniture. If they do, they get punished. So keep in mind, walls in apartments/townhomes are paper thin. Consider a top floor unit or a townhome on an end unit w/ neighbors with no children. Until then, its unfortunately what u have to put up with.

I'm going through the exact same thing except mine is coming from the floor BELOW. It's the first time in my life that the person from below bothered me, and that much. Then they have the nerve to stomp when I'm TYPING. The sad thing is that I don't even type hard. It probably just vibrates my desk which ends up vibrating their floor... but TYPING?!!!!! My gosh, how sensitive can you get?!!!! They should be glad that they don't have their clones living above them. That would 20x worse than what they're dealing with now.

I understand completely!!! I have a 2 year old who lives next door. My friends live below them. I have to only listen to the screaming and yelling and they have to contend to the thumping, banging and smashing. I know kids are kids but come on ... I am considering moving to an adult building. This mother bitches and goes on about how noisy everyone else is in this building yet never notices her sweet child screaming, crying and disturbing neighbors. Then the same bitch has the nerve to come knocking on my door to ask to borrow this or that!!!! UNREAL!!! I wish she would just move the hell out and give us all some peace!!!

Yes we understand kids are kids and yes kids are noisy ... but just because we chose to live in an apartment doesn`t mean we don`t deserve quite too. I am very considerate of my neighbors. I don`t blare my stereo or have wild parties yet I have been to friends homes in apartments and the neighbors will slam on the ceilings when we are sitting there just talking in normal voices at 10:00 pm on a Friday night all because they have a small baby. Now as this child grows and developes the ability to yell at the top of his lungs do we have any rights? NO.... So people who have kids better learn to respect others who tolerate their kids screaming and yelling too. Yes apartments are not sound proof and yes there will be sounds that travel but remember when you are complaining over every sound you hear coming from our place, we are also tolerating your noises too!!!

I also have the same exact problem as you! My upstairs neighbors have a 4 year old that they can't control & she runs around all the time, pounding, banging, stomping & screaming on our ceiling. This goes on even late at night! I also reported them to the office manager & that bitch had the nerve to tell me that if I'm not happy here, then I should move! I've lived here for over 5 years & these scumbags have only been here 2 months! Why should I be the one who has to move when they're the ones causing all of the problems! I plan on moving in the spring & I'll make sure that I live on the top floor this time!

Whoever wrote this, you're a retarded ASSHOLE! People in apartments deserve peace and quiet as much as people who live in houses do! Having to put up with noisy idiots who are so loud that they even disrupt your sleep is BULLSHIT! Thank goodness that I don't have you for a neighbor because you sound like a real inconsiderate, rude douchebag and I would probably end up beating the shit out of you. Since you condone extreme noise in apartment buildings, then someday you're going to end up dead when one of the other tenants gets fed up with your crap! What comes around goes around!

i think having college-aged kids living upstairs is worse. i have these alcoholic fuckers living upstairs from me and it's awful. they're pretty docile throughout the week but as soon as the weekend hits all hell breaks loose.

they stay up until early morning and they are habitually FALLING DOWN DRUNK. i can literally hear them stumbling around and acting like idiots. every once in a while it sounds like someone gets body-slammed. i'm waiting for one of them to come through the ceiling and land in my lap.

they used to blare music to the point that it rattled the dishes in my cabinets until i actually talked to them a few times. no more music, THANK GOD.
