It Sucks Being The Woman

My man put his foot down and won't let me go see my Mom. His excuse is no traveling during the pandemic, and my mom who is 78 doesn't need visitors. My brain tells me do what I'm told, my feelings tell to fuck him and go. Sometimes like right now I hate that I'm the woman and i have to do what I'm told.

Both you and your husband are correct, in that, you are correct in terms of concern for your mother and he is right in cautioning you.
Why not flip a coin and determine?
If there is no restriction on movement to and from your mom's residence, you may wear a mask , avoid touching anyone except your loved ones-who I assume are quite healthy.
Alternatively, you may communicate over whatsapp video call.

My daughter-in-law's mother is a teacher at a Christian school. They had a COVID break-out among the students and staff, and the infected people were sent home. My DiL's mother was symptom free, and chose to visit her parents the following weekend.

A week later, both of her parents were infected and her father was in intensive care. He died early the next week. She has to live with the fact that her poor judgement killed her father.

So continue to blame your husband for doing the thinking and caring you, apparently, are incapable of doing yourself. Hopefully, in a few months, you can thank him.
