Has anyone EVER heard of filing a complaint and seeking legal council because your child shaved her legs at a neighbors house?
My daughter wanted to shave her legs. She is starting to go through puberty and shaving her legs is ok with me as long as I sit beside her, watch and try to direct her not to cut herself. My neighbors 9.5 year old daughter was at my house too(as usual). This friend wanted to shave her legs alongside my daughter too. The fool that I WAS , I let her, and directed her as well how not to cut herself.
The girl went home and her mother FLIPPED!!!
Let me start out by saying the mother is diagnosed is is on meds for BIPOLAR. The mother called the school, the local mental health dept. and the police before retaining an attorney .

ALL BECAUSE HER DAUGHTER SHAVED HER LEGS AT MY HOME,UNDER MY SUPERVISION, ALONGSIDE MY OWN DAUGHTER!!!

The letter from her attorney states neither myself or any member of my family may contact any member of their family. OK..good enough huh? If any member of my family trespasses on their property, litigation will take process under the charges of , emotional, actual or consequential damages, resulting from my extreme, inappropriate, dangerous and unlawful behavior.

I case you are wondering...no we have never called the police on one another, but have had some disagreements and arguements over the past 8 years. Surely nothing that would warrant this type of EXTREME reaction!!!

Well, they are in for a surprize...because I have a few tricks up my sleeve over things(illegal) they have done that I have ignored in favor of keeping the peace.
They better hold onto their asses, because they have unleashed Pandoras box....I didn't start the fight,
But I am sure as hell going to finish it!

I think you're the nut case here, letting a girl shave their legs dry, when I started shaving mine, I done it in the shower with my dads shaving soap. Legs have to be shaved all the way up to the crack, so I figure the lady was more concerned that you were in too close contact with her daughter. Does the word pervert come to mind?

NO,NO...the girl shaved her OWN legs after seeing my daughter shaving hers, who is going through puberty and a gymnast (who has my permission to shave her legs)WHO is also 9 years old.
I merely instructed her how NOT to harm herself if she insisted on joining my daughter in removing the hair from her legs with a safety razor. No physical contact was made above the knee. These girls were best friends and were taking delight in becoming "young ladies".
NO harm was intended or carried out in ANY way.
Just two young ladies experiencing the maturing process together as freinds with my supervision.

Also, this was not done on dry legs. We had a warm bowl of water and shaving cream between the girls and each were sitting on towels.
The only inappropriateness I can see in hindsight is that neither I , nor the girl got prior permission from the parents to shave her legs. My daughter has my permission (being that she is a cheerleader, a gymnast and is going through puberty)My daughter is slightly embarrased about her "hairy legs". It is not highly unusual for girls to begin puberty between ages 9-10 years old. I should mention that this girlhas been like a second daughter to me since she was 2 years old, and has been on many family outings with us over the years.
The thought never entered my mind that such an extreme reaction would be taken to such a harmless act.

Beware parents( girl scout leaders, boy scouts..ect...you never know how people might interpret things as noted by the assumptions made by the prior reply.

Your neighbor's attorney is doing his/her job.

You need to understand what is going on here - your neighbor paid (probably, unless this attorney is a VERY close friend or VERY close relative - but I digress) to get a more or less standard form letter out to you.

This is - most likely - as far as it will go. Don't sweat it.

With your neighbor's hair trigger alarmist tendencies, you probably dodged a larger bullet.

Indeed. Thank god her daughter didn't break an arm or a leg at my house! My friends have told me the same thing. It is nothing more than a fancy "NO TRESPASSING" letter.
Good riddens to bad rubbish!

sounds to me like there are deeper rooted problems here. Most people wouldnt fly off the handle like that. Did you flirt with her husband or something. What caused a rift like this to have a lawyer involved over leg shaving

They have never liked me much. Mostly because (in their words) I "live the life of Riley' because I don't work and they both have to. I usually spend my summer days horseback riding, tending to my gardens and entertaining their children along with my own.
They both work full time and have always had some sort of guilt mixed with jealosy.
Our grass is greener, house is bigger, our cars are newer and we are younger and my husband makes more than both of them put together. Other than that...maybe they think that I poop roses and can do no wrong as a girl scout leader and office holder in the PTA.
I think they have always wanted to "take me down a notch". I don't know. I DO KNOW that she is admittedly a sufferer of BIPOLAR disorder, and he is an ex-drug addict. This is true by their own admission and not just my "venting".
Yes, I know some will think I should get off my high horse, I am stuck up...bla bla. Not True!I am just guessing that is why they hate me. We have done so many favors over the years for them, and unreciprocated I might add.
I have treated their children like a second family to my own. I have brought those kids everywhere I brought my own out of kindness. Maybe they think I "rub it in their face" when their kids would get off the bus and immediately ask to go to my house instead of their own.
I don't know....I am just glad it was over their daughter shaving her legs at my house and not a broken arm or something. Like the previous repy said....I probably dodged a larger bullet!
