I can't even believe I have gotten to this point. My husband and I bought our first home in a cute neighborhood about 2 years ago. We have a little girl and a little boy. From the beginning, the woman who lives next door has been overbearing and nosey, to say the very least. She and her husband used to live down the street in an apartment upstairs from an old, convenience-type store. When she became pregnant, at the age of 40, with their first children, (twins---good God) the Father and Mother of the son offered them to move in with them. Well, it is six years later, and this woman has managed to get the deed put in her husband's name (house is paid for) and take over the entire house. She is constantly renovating ("Before the old folks die and can't pay..") and buying her kids every toy known to man...even though her husband works practically part-time and she stays home with the 6 year old kids. They have no money of their own, but since the house is paid for, they can buy whatever they want with the little they have. (This all leads somewhere-promise) Anyhow, this woman is VERY snobby and VERY sick in the head, neurotic and paranoid delusional. Why is she snobby? Who knows, she would not have a pot to pee in if it weren't for her in-laws, who she yells at most of the time. From the time I moved in, she was CONSTANTLY in our yard. EVERY time I stepped outside, THERE she was, giving me her "advice" on how to garden, how to be a mother, how to cook, how to be a wife, etc. WAY over the top stuff. I calmly listened as she told ME how I needed to get "help" because she was sure I was suffering from depression. She would say this all the time. As her situation has grown more "stressful" due to aging in-laws...no more live in babysitters, I guess, she has been calling me more and more names like "crazy", "sick" etc. etc. Really, I just kind of mind my own business and stay away from her. It has been difficult because my little girl loves her children. Unfortunately, we have had to attempt to put a stop to her playing with them, since their mom is such a freak. (We do not trust her around our children.) SO the other day, she comes over to invite our daughter to run in the sprinkler with her kids. Actually, this was a guise, as she NEVER comes over to invite our kids to do anything. She then physically pulled my husband out on the side porch, and started jabbering his ear off about how awful I am. My husband tried to defend me and explain it was SHE who was nuts...but she kept cutting him off, and abruptly left. (!?) So, I went over to speak with her to put an end to this crap. For the sake of the kids. Anyhow, I asked her what she was doing speaking to my husband about ME, and she flipped OUT! She started yelling that I was attacking her, not letting her back into her (fenced and gated so STAY THERE!) yard, and that she was calling the POLICE for harrassment! I was shocked, to say the very least. She kept saying, "You're sick, you have problems, you need help..." Over and over again as a reply to ANYTHING that I attempted to say. She ran around the yard, flapping her arms and yelling these things. And I need help? So, she has told just about anyone who will listen that I "attacked" her and that I am crazy and need help. I do not stick my nose into people's business, so most of these people do not know who I am, and may even be inclined to believe her. However, most people are as disgusted by her as I am, but since she lives with her in-laws, who carry clout around here, she gets her butt kissed anyhow. I feel sorry for my daughter. She doesn't understand why she cannot play with the girls, and why their nutty mothwer comes to get them whenever they are talking to her. (My daughter is 2 years younger than them.) This is all much more involved than what I have written here. MANY sick things have happened over the years. This is just the most bizarre. She has said she will call the police if I go on their property (WHY?) so I cannot even speak to her in-laws, who we were crazy about. But her girls have already come into our yard asking our daughter to play and generally annoying us. I don't know what to do. We cannot move, and I cannot live this way. I am afraid to even take my own kids outside to play. And a lot of other kids my daughter tries to play with say, "Gail told us your mommy was crazy." And stuff like that. What do I do? thanks!

Good fences make good neighbors. Buy the highest one you can afford or available by law, and just cut yourself off. It may sound cruel, but hope for the parents to kick off soon, and they may not last as neighbors for long.

We are having similar problems. I wanted my children to stop playing with the neighbors kids. Now she is calling the police on us, and saying we are the problem. She says nasty things to my children, and then turns around and says that I am saying those things to her. What do you do with people like this? I hate for us to be locked in our home. We are in a mftd homes park. We can't even put up a tall fence.

Yes, this is what I deal with. We don't have the money to put up a fence, or I would. This summer has been hell. Her bratty kids cutting through our yard as if it is theirs. Her making comments to my daughter and ignoring us. Speaking with every husband in the neighborhood about what tramps all of us wives are...etc., etc. It has gone from bad to worse. The only thing I can say that makes me feel better at this point is that she is digging her own grave. The other neighbors are seeing her for what she is, and she is alienating herself. Everyone is sick of taking care of her bratty, mutant children all day while she sits on her fat, lazy ass and never offers to have kids play in their yard. Just last night she showed up at a neighborhood cook-out which she was actually told that she wasn't invited to...and proceeded to act like a snob, ignore everyone, and then took her trashy kids and poor husband and left in a huff as if she were too good to associate with us. We all laughed because the fact is, nobody wanted her there.

At least everyone seems to be onto her. She won't have many friends(if any) anymore in the neigborhood. just be careful, imagine living in a neigborhood where everyone thinks your ajoke. She might go crazier.
