Basically I am a cat person. I do not hate dogs. Dogs are fine animal. I feel that having a dog is close to having a kid. You need space and have to give time to them. I hate when folks make their dogs live outside. They want and need to be apart of your life. For the most part they do not chose to be apart of your life.

We have neighbors that across the way from us.

She is a signal mom (I was too.) with a son who is little older than mine. Their place is smaller than ours. Not that it makes us better than them.

In the three years we have lived here they have had no less than six dogs. Each has gone away. Sooner or later they chew, pee, pooh, bark and they get rid of it. In a couple of months they get another.

GOD I WISH THERE WAS AWAY OF THEM NEVER GETTING A DOG AGAIN.

What is she teaching her son by getting a dog and getting rid of it? Granted animals are not more important than humans or family but they should make a commitment for longer than a few months.

Agree about the animals. What you are experiencing is by no means unique. It's always the people who most assuredly should not have pets or kids that have legions and hordes and swarms of them.

It should not be a great mystery why things are the way they are.

In some areas/neighborhoods, it is actually illegal to have a dog living outside. You can own a dog, but you must be with it when it is outdoors. If it is off your property, it must be on a leash. - What a great law this is! I wish it was instituted everywhere. What, really, is the point in chaining/caging a dog in your yard, allowing the poor thing to howl and bark incessantly? The poor animal, what else can it do but bark? It is horribly cruel. Even when the animal is fed and watered properly (which is rarely the case), it is unbelievably cruel. And it goes without saying that it creates grief for the neighbors.

It does no good to complain to these crazy dog owning people, either. They don't see the problem in having a dog/dogs living on a rope in their yard. This kind of stupidity blares the TV top volume 24/7, and cannot possibly grasp the need for normal people to peace and quiet.

I pay twice the rent I can afford just to stay above the stupids. When I have come to the day when one must pay for decent and responsible neighbors.
