Call Me Miss Revenge: Part 1

After 5 and a half years of my at the time jobless husband. He finally landed a job at a local supermarket.

A few weeks in and our sex life had come to a halt. Non existent. He said that he was always so tired after his 4 hour shifts of unboxing and stacking groceries.
Now, I worked in a hospital at the time and would do 8 to 15 hour shifts and still have the energy to get freaky.

Keep in mind, I would drop him off and pick him up as he didn't have a car.
Call it intuition, but something told me to go earlier to pick him up one night. So I did. I noticed him with another female worker at the loading dock. They were kissing. As you can imagine I was in rage. I waited for him to come to the car 15 minutes later.
I had no idea what I was going to do. Do I confront him? Do I not say anything?

So I watched and saw all of the work colleagues walking out from the loading dock and to their cars. He and her walked behind the small group. And then parted ways. He came up to the car like normal. Asked how my day was, I played along. I decided to stay quiet for now. See how far he would go and watch to see if he would slip up more and more. As he would be thinking he'd be getting away with this.

Little by little he would speak of this one woman more and more everyday. Now I didn't bother pulling him up on this, because I wanted to see how oblivious he truly thought I was. As this would have him thinking that he has this under control.

I'd smell cheap perfume in the house after coming home from my long shifts.
A larger quantity of food that I had cooked would be gone. Like 2 people had eaten it, as my husband didnt have a large appetite.
He would also go for "walks" more often now.

One evening we stopped by to pick up a few things from the store that he worked at. Upon leaving, this woman says "bye neighbour". It was the woman he had been kissing. I smiled at her, and then asked him who and what that was all about when we left. He explained that he had been walking and she stopped him and said hi. He explained that he was shocked that she lived so close to us. Literally accross the park from us.


So one afternoon he went for his "walk". I would watch him from the top story bedroom. He walked the opposite direction from where she lived. And then a few minutes later, I would see him walk to her house.

I thought okay. Gotcha now you bastard.
I contemplated going over there. I contemplated what I would do. And then I thought, I'll go over and just walk passed. If I hear something (you know what I'm talking about) that will be confirmation enough. So I walked past her house. And surely enough I heard something alright.

Something in me just switched. I didn't want to confront him. I wanted to get even. The amount of years that I had put into this man, chasing a dream that he was too lazy to put effort into. Struggling some weeks to pay the rent and feed the both of us. At this moment I was very financially secure. At this moment I thought, I'm going to get me some. No one fucks me around and gets away with it. No one.
