Juuust Didn't Make It...
Earlier this year my brother got married. Back when him and his wife first got engaged, she asked me if I would be one of her bridesmaids and I said yes. Cut to a few weeks before the wedding, I had to go to a dress fitting with her, her mom and the other bridesmaids. We had to go into the city for it so we all met up at her house and carpooled together in two cars, there were 7 of us. Her family is pretty well off and she's kind of the dainty princess type, so of course it wound up being at this super high-end little bridal boutique. I instantly felt out of place because I was like literally in leggings and sneakers. But that was the least of my problems... at the house before we drove into the city, I was offered coffee, which I accepted and drank without considering the fact that coffee almost always makes me need to poop pretty soon after I drink it... and sure enough, by the time we reached the city and got to the dress fitting, I needed to go. It was manageable for the moment, but I knew in the back of my mind that I needed that dress fitting to go as quickly as possible! As the minutes went on, it just kept getting exponentially worse, and it soon hit me that I NEEDED to use the toilet pretty urgently. But I couldn't stand the idea of being the girl who blows up the bathroom at a fancy little shop, so I tried to hold it in until we were done. Well, I couldn't... I eventually got to the point where I was "prairie dogging", so I gave in and excused myself to the bathroom, but it was just seconds too late. I rushed in and shut the door behind me, but before I could even pull my leggings down, I pooped my pants in front of the toilet!
Not just a little. It wasn't like the sort of situation where I just leaked a bit then got the rest of the toilet.... im talking, I BADLY messed my underwear. In public. While out with a group of other adults. At age 30.
I stood there helplessly for a few minutes trying to figure out what I was gonna do, and ultimately I realized the damage was far too severe to be dealt with in that little bathroom... I had to face the fact that there was no hiding it. I swallowed my pride, then left the bathroom and informed my group that I needed to go home because I had an accident.... some of the girls had to leave the fitting early to take me somewhere to clean up and change my pants. They were all pretty nice and understanding about it, but I was mortified nevertheless. The most embarrassing part was the smell in the car that the others had to endure because of me.... I must have apologized two million times. Now I never drink coffee if I'm unsure what the bathroom situation is going to be after...
