I used to live in the country, where all my neighbors down the whole road was in my family. So no problem there. But this summer my wife and I moved to town for work. I live in a apartment building now. Three levels with us living on the top floor.
When we first got here within the first week I already had the lady across the hall complaining about how loud my truck is when i start it up to go to work every morning. (I'm sorry i work for a living. I can't sit some everyday and collect wellfare.)
Then I have the two teenage girls that smoke in the stairway one level down. Where they leave burn marks and cig. butts all over the place makeing the walk up to me place look like shit.
And the new wanna be thugs that moved in right below me. The first night they moved in they were playing there music loud as hell. They would take over two parking spots in our already too full parking lot. Oh in all this did I mention I'm a police officer.
So after a couple of days getting pissed off at the new neighbors I deceided to pay them a visit one day after work in my uniform. Well you know how young punks react when a police officer comes knocking on their door. Let's just say they act alot better now. I also heard rumors that they might be moving now. I guess they don't like living under a cop.
I have less than 7 months left on my lease. After that We are gone. Back to the sticks for me.
I so hate these people.

The country is definitely nicer. You're lucky to be able to have the option to live there.
Good luck on your move =)

If I had it my way I would live out in the middle of nowhere. My neighbors all suck. Yes none of us are perfect, but when you can't move right away and are stuck around noisy neighbors, meth head neighbors, undisciplined kids, mama's boys, healthy dole getters that don't work, but always find something to bitch about and neighbors who use you when you try to help or be nice to them. Believe me it's sucks the big one.

My animals are far better company than these maggots from hell.

Why are you living is such a trashy building? Can't you afford better on a police officer's salary?

The place isn't trashy. Just some of the neighbors are. Really I just have problems with a few of them. The sad part they are the ones that lives closest. Also, we are just renting till we figure out where we want to buy a house at.

I dont think it matters where you live these days, country or city, there are always some arseholes that make your life hell. Right now I live in the country and my next door neighbor is a nasty old git. Next week my house is going on the market to get away from him (the sooner the better). I am hoping to still live in the country and to get a detached property - preferably in the middle of nowhere. I agree with the poster that said that their animals are far better company than humans, right on!

Good luck to the original poster with finding your ideal property and I hope in the meantime that your neighbors dont cause you too much hassle.
