I live in a residence hall at a university, and my neighboring room houses two first-year girls. I am older than them. I know they are first-year because of the immaturity that they have demonstrated thus far. First incident: I was in the bathroom washing my hair in the sink, at the same time as usual every m/w/f. When I was almost done, I got a knock on the door. "Excuse me, but we're BOTH waiting to use the bathroom." Of course, I only thought of a good comeback after the situation. I was nice about it and said, "Ok, I'm almost done", and I was. I was quite angry for the rest of day. Second incident: this weekend my neighbors had some cousins over, and this afternoon they were on their way to a football game. They were all outside their door talking. My door was closed, and my boyfriend was inside. One of them said loudly, "I've got my ticket!" and my boyfriend mocked her in a loud, high voice, which was pretty funny. A while later he was leaving, and I saw that on the white board on my door, someone had written "fuck you". It upset me a great deal. Who would do that? Now I've taken the board off of my door, and I'm deciding to take the high road: I'm going to buy some handsoap for the bathroom that we share. After that, maybe I'll write "fuck YOU" on a steamed mirror for them to find one day. Fucking bitches.

What made me so mad about the bathroom incident was the fact that there have been many, many times when I've had to use the bathroom and one of them has been in it. What do I do? I find another bathroom. Also, I've been getting up earlier just to use the bathroom before they do. Or I eat breakfest first and then use it. Apparently they are not smart enough to do any of these things and feel that it is their right to use the bathroom whenever they want. Ugh.

Your situation is not uncommon for dormitory living. If you can, move off campus. You might actually find that an apartment is cheaper (depending on the location) or you can rent a room. Lots of folks who reside near colleges rent out their extra rooms. Just make sure you are careful though.
I stayed in a dorm for one quarter then I hit the high road. It is not worth the money they charge to have to live like that. Good luck!

You sound immature too.
1. The bathroom: Its dormatory living get over it!
2. Your so mature boyfriend openly mocked them.
Do for Do, get over it.
