My Life Has Been Turned Upside Down
This happened in 2018. The effects ate still with me. At the time I was the HR Manager of a not so small international company. I prided myself on being competent. I reported indirectly to one of the two founders, he was the business boss, the other founder sales and operations. As the HR Manager I was privileged with sensitive information.
The day started like any other, I went through emails, met with the Director of Logistics over an alcoholism problem with one of his employees. A woman employee came to my office and declared she was gay and if I thought her career there was over. I sat back, why would she think that? Well you know Mr. C, he's homophobic. Why would you say that? Look at him, he hates gays. Why would you say that?
And then I put my foot in my mouth, I said I'm gay, he supports me, he is my mentor, I owe my career to him, not to mention he has guided me financially and helped me gain financial independence (all true). She told everyone she saw that day that I was gay. Which for reasons of my own I kept to a very private few. I asked Mr. C to fire her, he did. She sued.
My reputation, personal life became hell. My mother found out because she went on fb, I lost my confidence. I chose to resign. Mr. C wouldn't hear about it, he hired me as his personal secretary, for his non business matters. One thing led to another and in a moment of weakness I delivered myself to him, my first time. My emotions were raw, I was distraught and I wanted something totally mine. I literally begged him to please let me have one of his children. He agreed and I gave birth to a girl in August 2019.
I am his personal employee, that's how he supports me. I don't really have a job, other than being a mother. I'm on the board of two small companies he owns. As to that woman, she had her suit dismissed and he's not going to let her get a real job in this city. He doesn't care if she's gay, she intentionally hurt me and he will defend me. Hurting me was her mistake.
My life exposed, my very private life is ruined. I'm in hiding behind his shield. Hiding, I have no public life any more and my career is over. Because of this vicious woman. Sorry for the rant but it's important to know that there are really bad people out there and she is one of them.
