i want to try an alcoholic drink (something harder than wine or champagne) but i dont know how to come across it. we have none in our house and i always think that i could go over my grandparents house and when there not in the room i could sneak in the kitchen and steal beers out of the fridge, is this sick or wrong? please tell me what you think!

I'll tell you from experience, you should shy away from alcohol at any cost. I was drunk once for 15 yrs and ruined my whole life. As for stealing from your grandparents, only a half-wit would do that. Take some pride in your integrity and other people will too!!!

There are many reasons minors should not drink. Take my friend who just died from a liver gone bad from way too much booze. He started drinking in his early teens and cut his life short by probaby 30 years. In the end, his mind was so "fried," he didn't know where he even was.
Then there is my old girlfriend who also started drinking at a very young age with just a few beers now and then. Now in her 40's, almost always crocked from too many drinks, she looks about 15 yrs older then she is, has been through 4 inpatient treatment programs and done several jaunts in jail; ALL due to the drinking that she has been unable to stop. She quit school to "party," she has lost dozens of jobs cause she didn't show up cause of hangovers, and guys have only one use for her, so she is really alone except for her bottle.

Drinking in a sense is no big deal, but it can get out of hand so yes, be careful and think about what these people are telling you. But, if you are going to fuck around, do it with alcohol as I can tell you there is much worse out there. For instance, I am a junkie. I have been battling heroin for a really long time. I can't get out of bed without shooting up. Many things can harm us as we think it's "all in good fun" until one day we wake up and realize it's not fun anymore because it has totally fucked our lives up. Whatever you choose to experiment with, be careful and know that after a while too much of anything can be harmful. Good luck and be careful!!

Drinking is "no big deal." Man are you ever so wrong in your reply. My friend was able to kick Heroin many many yrs ago, but its alcohol that totally ruined her life and is now killing her.

i dont know, i still want to try it, i mean, if i cant do it often (none in our house) how can i become an actual alcoholic until im older or can get some easier. i think next time i go over somebody's house I can drink with them or next time i hang out with the guy i like or before a dance i can get drunk and have the best time ever- imean at least ill be loose enough to dance from the beginning instead of waiting for 30 or so mins

Statistics now show that the younger a person is when they start drinking, the higher the odds they will become alcoholic. At this time you have most of your life still in front of you; if at this time you already can't make the correct decision to not drink; I fear for your future. Maybe you should look up AA and give them a call. I've heard they have teen meetings; you could maybe get a glimps into what a future hooked on booze would be like.

I said alcohol can be no big deal but I also agreed that it can get out of hand...don't get me wrong. Everyone has different problems with different drugs/alcohol and things affect everyone differently. So please don't take what I said the wrong way. To your friend who kicked heroin and is now fighting for her life from alcohol...god bless her and I hope she can pull through this as she did with heroin. I did kick heroin once, but now I'm back on it and it's worse this time around. I don't know if I can kick again. To the person who originally wrote about wanting to drink - please think carefully and choose wisely. Be careful with anyting and everything you choose to experiment with.
