We Are Fully Support Adoption Of Plural Marriage Laws
I am a 30 something Jewish girl from Toronto. I grew up in a tight family social circle. I missed my family during college and when I moved to NY. I met a girl there and we bonded. It was clear that we were both of the mindset and opinion that as women we would do better in a household headed up by a man and children were important to us. Many children. We moved to a State that is family friendly, even if it is a much less liberal State.
We met a man who was willing to take us both on and not break us up. He insisted on our acknowledgement that if we couldn't meet eye to eye on a matter he had the final word. Also, we were going to start a family immediately, family before career. It didn't escape us that we were creating a poly arrangement, only that the 'married' couple were the wives.
Time went by quickly enough, we stayed pregnant for the better part of the first three years filling up our home with the pitter patter of little feet. Other than the disruptions of the pandemic, our goals of husband, family, home have been realized.
We fully support plural homes, multiple wives, not the other way around. Our formula is that the husband has to make the final choice, but the women select the candidates for him to choose from. If the women are not happy and can't get along it will be a failure. In our case we have the advantage of being a couple in our own right, but that is not necessary. Women have tremendous ability to bond with sisters, cousins. friends. One family is the goal. More children, females are never alone, husband can focus on work and not be distracted by issues at home or with the children. Multiple wives provide their very own female centered support group.
We support a law embracing a man's ability to build a home with more than one wife.
