Life Interrupted

Dealing with COVID side effects. Namely Beth Anne. Who tells you that you can get pregnant from a one night stand. Who tells you that once pregnant you fall in love with someone you don't even know. Who tells you you will take a sabbatical to stay home for a year, or two, or maybe forever.
All this after ten years of working, pushing away any and all callers. So much for career and money. So much for never doing housework.

The man involved came into my life on a meteor, burning across the sky, and taking me with him. I never thought I would live on an island. Who would have thought I would be talking catch of the day or hushpuppies or clam chowder. This man who showed up, uncalled, unwelcome and unnecessary, carried me away on a chariot of fire.

I suppose, honestly thinking, that once Beth Anne is three or so I'll be looking for a job, at least part time. Unless, and this is a hypothetical, Beth Anne needs a brother.
