Son And Daughter

My three kids came home from college for the holidays. Almost immediately, I was inspired and elated about how my 20 and 22 year old son and daughter were getting along. Even my wife was blindsided by how well they were getting along. They spent time with each other at home, running errands and basically did everything together.

A few nights into the holiday break, they were in the basement playing Fortnite. I could not care about the game and it was time for me to sleep anyways. Two hours later, my wife says what is that noise? Sounds like outside but I slowly walk into the living room and I hear my daughter in what sounds like sexual distress. It is muffled and low, but she is moaning. We choose to not want to know anymore, head back to our room and turn on the fan on the headboard. 15 minutes later my son and my daughter come up from the basement. My wife says wtf?

The next night, same thing. This went on almost every night and is still going on now.

They go back to school in about a week or so, so it will stop. Should we mention anything to them?

I only don't believe this because you wrote "inspired" and "elated" and I just don't believe parents could be either of those two things when kids come home from college.

You do not have to believe me. These two are usually like oil and water. The two of them getting along inspires good juju in the house. Sorry my vocabulary isn’t to your Shakespearean prose. Not!

So the daughter is older? There must be a great back story here. Do they go to the same school? You must ask how this started at least, and then tell me.

Put a a security cam up. Snap a few pics of them in the moment or record the sounds made

No, they go to different schools, but they are not that far apart from each other.

My wife and I have tried to figure out when it started. Maybe the summer? The entire situation is weird for sure.

And no, no camera. I do not want to see anything that I can hear happening. Lol

If you haven't actually seen them in action, then maybe they were playing some sports game and you misunderstood the noises? Anyway don't try to interfere and stopping them without ruining everyones lives is impossible. You would only push them away from you. They're adults and they will find time and space for it.

Legit or not, at this point getting involved will only make things worst. Nasty as it seems, even if this was a fling or something started years earlier, they're adults now and can not only make their own decisions, but will still find a way to do it. For your own sanity, knowing less is better.

Only get involved if you want to join the fun. Otherwise, stay out of it.
