A Conversation I Wished Never Happened

I was in the lady's room washing my hands and I noticed my coworkers arm was bruised. I asked her what happened and she answered that her boyfriend hit her. Shocked I pressed her and she followed up that he didn't hut her that often, except when she disobeyed him. Unable to let it go I kept pressing her and she asked me what my husband did when I disobeyed. I said I didn't disobey before I knew what I said. Because he's a man, right? I answered the only way I could, because he's my husband.

My husband has never hit me, he does put his foot down on some things, but doesn't tell me I have to obey him. But I wasn't walking away that day having her think my husband wasn't man enough.
