What Seemed Impossible Is A Nightmare

The true story. I married a man with a vasectomy. So, no children. Fine at 22, but as I grew older, nieces and nephews, my loins ached for a child of my own. I thought of adoption, so many children. But my husband wanted nothing to do with it. I came to realize, he was never going to acknowledge my needs, my desire. 35 and childless, I was a pariah among mothers. A coworker brought her newborn to the office to show her off. I held her for all of two minutes. One of the men made the observation,

-'you're a natural, you ought to get pregnant'.

I decided to defy my husband, I told my coworker he had made the observation, he should get me pregnant. He looked at me, saying only that he would do it, but he would be the father of record. It wasn't 'sex', not in that sense. It was more like insemination 'au natural'. I became pregnant, and told my husband well after twelve weeks, and the father was going to recognize the baby. One thing to know, the husband us presumed to be the father, and he has to relinquish his rights.

I divorced him and married 'the father, but he didn't relinquish his rights. We are in court, DNA isn't the issue. He wants money, which we don't have. He's holding us hostage. He doesn't want to see the baby, 'it reminds him that I cheated'. Basically he is an asshole.
