Once Upon A Time When You're Lonely

My work friend frequented the bar at the Hyatt downtown looking for a pickup. She had a deal with the bartender, a girlfriend from those days, to serve her drinks no alcohol. I went because she had been begging me, 'get lucky, you need to get laid'.

We weren't the only 'secretaries' there. Although technically I wasn't a secretary. The bar attracted out of town businessmen. The trick was, wait to be approached, no money or g*fts, that's prostitution. If you aren't interested don't answer. It's not husband hunting, it's about getting laid. And, remember, most of these men are married.

I couldn't do it, she left with the man from Cincinnati. I got my purse and went to the elevator. A man joined me, he mentioned he saw me in the bar. I told him I was her friend, I came as her 'wingman'. Now I was going home. He asked me to dinner, two lonely people. That's how I ended in his room that night. I got lucky.

The overall experience was unlikely to be repeated. I got lucky. I got laid. Wasn't that why I went to the Hyatt.
